2022-2023 Fiscal Year Two Week Fee-For-Service Checkwrite Hold

Specific checkwrites in June for the fiscal year 2022–2023 will be delayed until the start of the fiscal year 2023–2024.
Medi-Cal funded Fee-for-Service (FFS) payments scheduled for warrant date June 22, 2023, will be held until warrant date July 6, 2023.
The following checkwrites and payments to programs must be held during this time period as follows:
- Medi-Cal
- Family Planning, Access, Care and Treatment (FPACT)
- Child Health and Disability Prevention (CHDP)
- Abortion
Medi-Cal funded FFS payments scheduled for warrant date June 29, 2023, will be held until warrant date July 6, 2023.
The following checkwrites and payments to programs must be held during this time period as follows:
- Medi-Cal
- Abortion
- State-Only California Children’s Services ([CCS]-only)
- State-Only Genetically Handicapped Persons Program (GHPP)
Other public health (which is comprised of the Every Woman Counts Program [EWC]), shall be excluded from the checkwrite hold.
The Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) also requires the following items be held:
- Hold all payout Accounts Receivables (A/Rs), unless otherwise instructed by the DHCS
- Continue to process take back A/Rs
- Continue to process denied claims
- Continue to process State Level Registry payments
- Hold Designated Public Hospital (DPH) claims
- Hold all Provider Action Notices, unless otherwise instructed by California Medicaid Management Information System (CA-MMIS)
- Continue to pay system generated Local Education Agency (LEA) A/R transactions
- Continue to pay the IRS withholding transactions
