ICD-10-CM Code Related to COVID-19 End-Dated

Effective for dates of service on or after April 1, 2022, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has end-dated one ICD-10-CM code related to COVID-19. More information can be found on the ICD-10 page of the CMS website.

An Erroneous Payment Correction (EPC) will be implemented to reprocess affected claims with dates of service on or after April 1, 2022 to the implementation date of the updated reimbursement rate. Providers may also elect to correct and resubmit previously denied claims as described in the CIF Submission and Timeliness Instructions section of the Medi-Cal Provider Manual.
