Effective December 9, 2021, the U.S Food and Drug Administration (FDA) amended the Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) for the Pfizer-BioNTech Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) vaccine, to allow administration of a single booster dose for administration to individuals 16 years of age or older at least six months after completion of primary vaccination with the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine.
