Coronavirus (COVID-19) Uninsured Group Application Portal: Soft Launch

August 26, 2020

The Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) will soft launch the Coronavirus (COVID-19) Uninsured Group Application Portal on August 27, 2020. Qualified Providers (QPs) of the Presumptive Eligibility for Pregnant Women (PE4PW) program, Breast and Cervical Cancer Treatment Program (BCCTP), Hospital Presumptive Eligibility (HPE) program, or Child Health & Disability Prevention Program (CHDP) may not have access to the existing COVID-19 workaround to enter income (99,999 per month and household size of 98 people) to submit a Presumptive Eligibility (PE) for COVID-19 Application through the PE portal.

QPs of the PE4PW, BCCTP, HPE, or CHDP programs will have access to the COVID-19 Uninsured Group Application Portal.

QPs should use the new COVID-19 Uninsured Group Application Portal in the Transactions area of the Medi-Cal website.

If QPs are unable to access the COVID-19 Uninsured Group Application Portal during the soft launch on August 27, 2020, please use the existing manual process to submit a PE for COVID-19 Application. For guidance on how to process the PE for COVID-19 Application, please reference the Additional Guidance to Presumptive Eligibility (PE) for Coronavirus (COVID-19) Application Step-by-Step Guide for Qualified Providers.

Medi-Cal recommends that providers use the Chrome browser when accessing the COVID-19 Uninsured Group Application Portal to avoid any printing issues that may occur with other internet browsers.
