Effective immediately, Qualified Providers (QPs) must use the new Coronavirus (COVID-19) Uninsured Group Application Portal to process applications for the COVID-19 Uninsured Group program.

QPs of the Presumptive Eligibility for Pregnant Women (PE4PW) program, Breast and Cervical Cancer Treatment Program (BCCTP), Hospital Presumptive Eligibility (HPE) program, or Child Health & Disability Prevention Program (CHDP) will have access to the COVID-19 Uninsured Group Application Portal.

The new Coronavirus (COVID-19) Uninsured Group Application Portal will be made available in the Transactions area of the Medi-Cal website.

To access the COVID-19 Uninsured Group Application Portal, follow the instructions below:

1. Access the Medi-Cal website at www.medi-cal.ca.gov. Select the “Providers” tab and click the “Transactions” link.


2. Enter your User ID (National Provider Identifier) and Password (Provider Identification Number) and click the “Submit” button.


3. Click the “Prgms” tab.


4. Click the “COVID-19 Uninsured Group Eligibility” link.

Medi-Cal recommends that providers use the Chrome browser when accessing the Coronavirus (COVID-19) Uninsured Group Application Portal to avoid any printing issues that may occur with other internet browsers.
