Trauma Screening Training Attestation Available on Medi-Cal Website

January 13, 2020

In December 2019, the Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) launched the ACEs Aware website, which details provider training opportunities about how to properly screen for Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs). As described on the ACEs Aware website, Medi-Cal providers must have taken a certified training and self-attested to completing the training in order to receive Medi-Cal reimbursement for ACEs screenings beginning July 1, 2020.

As part of that process, the References page of the Medi-Cal website includes a link to the Trauma Screening Training Attestation online form that will accomplish this self-attestation. Providers are encouraged to use this online form to attest that they have successfully completed the certified trauma screening training.

Providers should note that this is not a form to sign up for the training. For information about how to sign up for the training, providers should visit the Trauma Screenings and Trauma-Informed Care Provider Trainings page of the DHCS website.
