Vision Care and Pharmacy Providers Adjudication Response Update
Effective immediately, vision care and pharmacy providers can receive Adjudication Response (AR) notices whether they submit paper or electronic Treatment Authorization Requests (eTARs).
ARs for pharmacy and vision TARs will be faxed to the number provided on the TAR for both paper and eTARs. If providers do not wish to receive an AR for a pharmacy or vision eTAR, they can leave the Fax Number field blank. ARs will continue to be mailed to the provider’s address on file with the Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) Provider Enrollment Division (PED) if the provider does not enter in a fax number. Providers should ensure that PED has their most current mailing address on file. Instructions for changing or updating an address are located in the General Reminders area of the PED Web page.
All providers can access TAR responses and check TAR status online by clicking the “Transactions” tab on the home page. After entering the provider number and the Personal Identification Number (PIN), providers can review the status of electronic and paper TARs by selecting the “eTAR” tab and then clicking “Inquire Only.” For further instructions for online inquiries, click the “Inquire Tutorial” link.
For additional help or questions, call the Telephone Service Center (TSC) at 1-800-541-5555 Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Providers should follow the prompts for eTAR to check the status of electronic and paper TARs.
