Due to AB 1183, Chapter 758 (Statutes of 2008), the Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) and the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) had printed and mailed their final hard copy bulletin and manual replacement pages (MRPs) in October 2008. DHCS and CDPH had discontinued the printing and mailing of all free (provider and governmental subscribed) Medi-Cal provider manuals, bulletins and MRPs to provider communities. All provider manuals, bulletins and MRPs are available online at no cost, on the Medi-Cal Web site. The "Opt-Out" section on the Medi-Cal Web site wherein providers opted out of receiving the hard copy Medi-Cal provider manuals, bulletins and MRPs has been discontinued. Current paid subscriptions will be honored through their paid end date. New subscriptions will no longer be accepted. Special mailings, training manuals, new provider packets, provider letters, Notice of Action letters and Claims Inquiry Forms will continue.
