Effective December 17, 2007, the date of NPI implementation, Medi-Cal providers can use the National Provider Identifier (NPI) for all claims and provider transaction services. The CMS-1500 and UB-04 Web tutorials have been updated to assist providers with billing the Medi-Cal program using the NPI.
