HPE Portal Experiencing Issues with Eligibility Enrollment

The Hospital Presumptive Eligibility (HPE) Application Web Portal is experiencing issues with eligibility enrollment. When HPE providers submit an HPE application, a response of “error has occurred” displays in lieu of the Immediate Need card even though the applicant is enrolled in HPE. HPE providers will not receive a Beneficiary ID number on the Web page.

This issue occurred on February 14, 2017. Medi-Cal is currently working on a solution.

If providers receive this error, please contact the Telephone Service Center (TSC) at 1-800-541-5555 to verify enrollment.
