Upcoming CME/CE Course: Cervical Cancer Screening & Diagnostic Follow-Up

On May 20, 2016, Every Woman Counts (EWC) is offering a live course titled Cervical Cancer Screening & Diagnostic Follow-Up as a continuing education (CE) credit opportunity for providers who perform cervical cancer screening as part of their scope of practice. The course will be offered at the UCSF Fresno Center for Medical Education.

The course will be taught by Patty Cason, MS, FNP-BC, a renowned expert in disease of the genital tract. Course topics include:

  • Updated management guidelines
  • Cervical cancer screening guidelines
  • Coming changes to cervical cancer screening
  • Primary high-risk HPV testing – Interim guidance
  • Optimal Pap collection techniques
  • Cytology results and follow-up strategies
  • Case studies using the American Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology (ASCCP) Updated Consensus Guidelines for Managing Abnormal Cervical Cancer Screening Tests

Participants can earn either five American Medical Association (AMA) Physician's Recognition Award (PRA) Category 1 continuing medical education (CME) credits or six nursing CE contact hours.
