What is a Webcast?
A Webcast is a live broadcast over the Internet and is viewed
through the browser window of a Web site—in this case, the Medi-Cal
Web site. Participants use their Internet-connected personal
computers to participate in an interactive environment that includes
question-and-answer sessions. No traveling is required and there is
no cost to providers.
The HIPAA Technical Assistance Webcast is also available in an audio-only format over the telephone, which is recommended for those who have slow Internet connections (such as a dial-up connection) or computers that cannot play sound. Instructions for participating in the Webcast using the audio-only format are available on the Registration page.
Who Will Benefit?
Those who will benefit from the HIPAA Technical Assistance Webcast
are staff that are familiar with the structure and data content of
electronic and EDI transactions. This includes technical support and
clearinghouse personnel, software vendors and billers. All
participants are strongly encouraged to review and be familiar with
the
Companion Guides of these transactions as well as the
HIPAA Implementation Guides.
