HIPAA: 270/271 Real-Time Internet Eligibility (RTIE) Screen Changes

HIPAA Transactions March 22, 2004

On March 22, 2004, selected field names used in the 270/271 Real-Time Internet Eligibility (RTIE) transactions (previously called "Determine Patient's Eligibility and Internet Batch Eligibility [IBEA] Processing") changed to comply with transaction standards mandated by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). The 270/271 RTIE is used to inquire about Medi-Cal eligibility.
