To attend a HIPAA class, please call the Provider Support Center at 1-800-541-5555 (prompt option "4") and reserve a seat for a morning or afternoon training session. Out-of-state providers and software vendors should call (916) 636-1000 and ask for the HIPAA Help Desk. Training sessions are available from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. or from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. for each training day listed.
If an interpreter for the hearing impaired or an assistive listening device is required, please call 1-800-541-5555 (prompt option "4"). EDS requires 10 working days to arrange for an interpreter or a listening device.

Compounded Drug and Home Infusion Training
Due to changes in the Medi-Cal claims submission system for billing compounded products, a new Medi-Cal Compounded Drug and Home Infusion Billing Workshop will be offered to pharmacists. Presented by EDS Pharmacy Consultant George Pennebaker, PharmD., this workshop will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Providers will learn how the new Medi-Cal claims system, which begins September 22, 2003, will affect future claim submissions. The new system will be mandatory for all home infusion therapy providers and other pharmacists who submit claims for compounded products. The new claims system will include the following changes:
- New paper claim forms and billing procedures
- New online claim forms and Internet submission
