This article serves as advance notice to impacted providers of pending changes to blood products and services billing codes that providers are to use due to the Administrative Simplification provisions of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) of 1996, Public Law 104-191, 45 CFR 162.1000. This article also provides information about a public comment period regarding these changes.
Instructions:
- Review the documents associated with the topic. The documents are in the Portable Document Format (PDF). Your
computer must have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed to view PDF files.
If you need to install Acrobat Reader, it is available as a free download.
- Click the e-mail link corresponding to your affiliation (Providers, Health Plans or General Public). A blank e-mail window will open on your computer. The "To:" and "Subject:" lines will already be completed. Enter your comments into the body of the e-mail and send it as you would any other e-mail.
E-mail is not confidential. Use caution when entering confidential or sensitive information. Your e-mail address will not be shared with any outside parties, but it may be used for future e-mail notices from the Department of Health Care Services (DHCS).
