Since Fiscal Year (FY) 2004 – 05, the last checkwrite in June of the FY has been delayed until the start of the next FY. Beginning with FY 2007 – 08, an additional checkwrite for all fee-for-service providers will be delayed and paid during the next FY. The deferral of payment of the final two June checkwrites to the following FY will be on a permanent basis. In 2008, these two June checkwrites will be released to providers on July 2, 2008. The following programs are impacted by this delayed payment:

• Medi-Cal
• Abortion
• Healthy Families
• Child Health and Disability Prevention (Aid Code 8Y continues to be paid)

Payments to providers that render services to Medi-Cal funded programs scheduled for the checkwrites of June 19, 2008, and June 26, 2008, will be deferred to July 2, 2008. Therefore, the before mentioned checkwrites must be held during this time period.

Payments for the following programs shall be excluded from the next to the last checkwrite hold for warrants dated June 19, 2008:

• State-Only California Children’s Services
• Genetically Handicapped Persons Program
• State-Only Child Health and Disability Prevention Program
• Early Access to Primary Care
• Children’s Treatment Program
• Cancer Detection Programs: Every Woman Counts

The last checkwrite issued in this FY for warrants dated June 26, 2008 will only pay providers that render services to Cancer Detection Programs: Every Woman Counts and the Children’s Treatment Program. All other providers will not receive a payment from the last checkwrite of this FY until July 2, 2008.
